Philosophy

We work for you. Our focus is on your needs. You'll obtain pertinent advice, including the refinement of your goals in your attorney’s representation. You can count on honest communication and the thoughtful evaluation of your best course of action.
We believe part of our job is to encourage the personal empowerment of our clients. We require involvement of clients at critical decision-making junctures. The case is yours, and it affects your life. We believe it is our duty to inform you of your options, their possible outcomes and the strengths and weaknesses of various alternatives. You can also rely on prompt responses to inquiries and support in times of difficulty. We will keep you fully advised of the status of your case.
We expect you to be "straight" with us: fully reveal facts affecting your case, ask questions when you are confused, and advise us when your emotions may be driving the case. We expect you to honor all financial commitments made as a result of our business relationship.

Terms
A Legal Representation Agreement will characterize our business relationship. A retainer is normally required. A retainer is a deposit of funds placed in a client trust account as surety for the client's financial performance. The amount of the retainer varies, depending on my evaluation of the complexity, anticipated conflict involved in the case, and the work that will be necessary to be performed. You will be asked to replenish your retainer as needed during the course of your case.
