Course Summary: At Matthews & Matthews we have a strong
commitment to a holistic-team approach to the divorce process. A good
therapist is an invaluable resource to a divorce client and can, in many
ways, affect the overall outcome of the case for the long term benefit
of the client and their family.
We designed this course to give therapists an overview of the key issues
their clients will face as they go through the divorce process. We will
review the step by step process and identify the emotional hot spots
that can be expected along the way, the pitfalls clients may face in the
Court system, and the standard Judges will use to make decisions.
We will also go over current Colorado law regarding the therapist/client
privilege and how it applies in custody and abuse cases.
